"between L.A. and Ventura" Hello all and pray for surf! I'm sending a photo of a little known spot between L.A. and Ventura that only breaks like this in the Winter when the creeks and rivers pump the sand out on otherwise quite rocky reefs. Westerly swells from Alaska/N. Cal. make this little spot grind pretty hard, if you notice the water in the foreground, there's a little bulge where the sandbar is about a foot-and-a-half deep! Decades ago they nicknamed this place "Boomers." At night during a good swell you could hear this place going off. Photos submitted by Bill Stange |
